Terms of Use
Last updated July 18, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Lesson Recorder app and related service (“Service”). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Contact us at hello@lessonrecorder.app with questions about these Terms.
The Service
Lesson Recorder lets you record lessons, transcribe them on your device, and optionally generate AI highlights. The software license is also subject to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. If these Terms conflict with Apple’s applicable terms regarding App Store distribution or payment, Apple’s terms control to the extent of that conflict.
Age and recording responsibly
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for complying with all laws that apply to your recording, including obtaining any required consent from everyone recorded. For a minor, you must have any required permission from a parent or guardian. Do not use the Service to record, upload, or process content unlawfully or in a way that violates another person’s rights.
Credits, subscriptions, and billing
Recording, on-device transcription, playback, and export are available without purchasing AI highlights. A successful AI-highlights request uses one credit. The app may offer one-time credit packs and, where shown in the App Store purchase flow, auto-renewing subscriptions that provide credits. The purchase screen displays the price, applicable terms, and subscription period before you confirm a purchase.
Apple processes App Store purchases and billing; we do not receive your payment-card details. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew unless you cancel them through your Apple account before the applicable renewal deadline. You can manage subscriptions and request eligible refunds through Apple, including at reportaproblem.apple.com. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be redeemed for money. Unless the purchase screen says otherwise, credits do not expire. A retry of the same completed lesson does not consume an additional credit.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, attempt to bypass security or billing controls, reverse engineer it except where law permits, or use it to violate law or another person’s rights. We may suspend or limit access to the cloud highlights service to protect users, the Service, or our providers from abuse, fraud, or security threats.
Your content and privacy
You retain ownership of your recordings, transcripts, and highlights. You give us the limited permission needed to process content you submit to provide the Service, including sending lesson text to OpenAI when you choose AI highlights. Our handling of information is explained in the Privacy Policy.
AI output
Transcripts and AI highlights may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation. Review output before relying on it; do not treat it as professional, legal, medical, educational, or other advice, or as the sole record of a lesson.
Service availability
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features when necessary to operate, secure, or improve the Service. The Service depends on your device, Apple services, network access, and third-party providers, so uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from or related to the Service. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. The date above identifies the most recent update. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when required. If you have a concern, contact hello@lessonrecorder.app first so we can try to resolve it.
